Carebate Giver is a member who donnates their SmartRebates to his/her favorite charity or local
fundraiser. We call these Carebates. If you are a Fundraiser, whether perpetual or time-sensitive, click the Carebates Fundraiser link (in red) above and find out more information on this program. For Fundraiser Givers, on the first page of the Registration, click on Carebates Givers in the drop-down menu, and then click on 'continue' to go the next section, and then click one of the registered fundraisers from the list in the drop-down menu. If you do not see your favorite charity or local group fundraiser (sports, band, anything appropriate), then please ask them to register their name. It's free. If the fundraiser you select is time-sensitve (such as high school senior band members raising funds to go to a city to march and play), it will automatically disappear from our list when the fundraiser's 'end date' is reached. If the fundraiser is perpatual--ongoing--such as Feed The Children or the Red Cross, then we will donate your Carebates to them at the end of the year. Sometimes national charities run time-sensitive fundraisers, especially for disaster relief. In that case, we will donnate the funds raised through Carebates soon after the End Date posted for the fundriaser. Check the drop-down list to see if they are on it. A CPA will audit all fundraisers. Check with your tax professional about whether or not these rebates are tax deductible.  |
